I haven’t added any words yet but the antelope were running around me in places like fish when you’re snorkeling …. the outlaw trail part of the ride ….. the buzzard I almost hit was in Idaho, when it heard me coming it flapped big off the road and into the field and then looped around like it was going to go back for the road kill after I had passed in slow motion but suddenly it was trying to cut across and even then I didn’t have to touch the brakes at all even though the buzzard’s wing almost touched my clutch hand when I did … I could see it’s eye ball when I said Holy Fuck! I still laugh when I think I had time to add Holy Fuck of all words that come to you in those moments. There are some great pictures of you analyzing the future at the gravel roads and then ironically turning back only to encounter another fifty miles on a Ducati Cafe Racer in half a first gear with a strong clutch. I hung out briefly with a horse and donkey loose on the trail. They looked like they could kick my ass if they wanted to and I thought better just to ride on after a good long look at the two. I’ve learned a total of 8 new riding positions to keep moving and stay loose while riding longer and longer hours. I thought about every conceivable animal that might look like a chiwawa coming out of the highway grass like that guy said but I couldn’t think of one that did. I stayed at the best cozy cottage style motel on the side of a popular secondary highway on my last night before getting to another place I call home.
